The Village Theater, Texas’ first luxury theater, is found at Highland Park Village. When it first opened in 1935 its construction cost more than $100,000, which is over $1,700,000 inflation adjusted and at the time was considered an astronomical amount. In 1987, the theater was renovated and the screens were moved upstairs to create 11,000 square feet in retail space. It was once again renovated in 2010 with new state-of-the-art cinema featuring first-run movies in two large theaters with plush seating, premium sound and all-digital projection.
