Founded in 1890, the University of North Texas began as a teacher training institute and has grown into one of the largest universities in Texas, located in Denton just north of Dallas. Today, it is recognized as a Carnegie Tier One research university, reflecting its significant contributions to innovation and academic research.

UNT is especially known for its College of Music, one of the most respected programs in the country, and home to the Grammy-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band. With more than 40,000 students and over 200 degree programs, the university continues to be a major educational and cultural force in North Texas.
